An Exquisite Red Tea from the Wuyi Mountains Jin Jun Mei (金骏眉), or “Golden Eyebrows,” is a relatively young but already celebrated Chinese Red Tea originating from the Wuyi Mountains in Fujian Province. First introduced to the tea market in 2005, Jin Jun Mei quickly became one of the brightest stars of modern Chinese tea culture, appreciated for its exceptional raw material, sophisticated processing, and remarkably complex aromatic character. Our 2026 harvest is a refined, warming, and beautifully aromatic tea suitable both for everyday enjoyment and special occasions. Its elegant character also makes it an excellent gift for anyone who appreciates premium Chinese tea. Appearance and tasting notes The dry leaves form small, tightly twisted strands of deep dark brown, interspersed with warm golden-orange tea buds. Their fragrance is rich and intense, revealing a distinctive fruity and pastry-like sweetness. Once brewed, the tea produces a clear and bright reddish-chestnut liquor with excellent clarity. The aromatic bouquet is noble, full, warm, and beautifully layered. Honey gradually gives way to flowers, while notes of freshly baked pastry develop into ripe fruit sweetness. These are complemented by subtle nuances of nutmeg, citrus, berries, and gentle spices. The aroma is delicate yet expressive, naturally sweet, with elegant notes reminiscent of French pastries and ripe fruit. The liquor is velvety, juicy, full-bodied, and naturally sweet. Its flavor changes noticeably throughout the tea session and even evolves as the brewed tea gradually cools, revealing different layers of sweetness, fruit, flowers, and spice. The finish is silky, vibrant, and long-lasting, with a pleasant refreshing acidity balancing the tea’s natural sweetness. Character and Experience Character & Experience Jin Jun Mei is a warm, comforting, and harmonious tea with a distinctly calm and peaceful character. It is equally suitable for a special tea session or as an exceptionally refined everyday Red Tea. Its combination of aromatic complexity, natural sweetness, and smooth texture makes it approachable while still offering enough depth for experienced tea drinkers. It is particularly enjoyable during the second half of the day, when its warm and balanced character creates an opportunity to slow down, gather your thoughts, and enjoy a peaceful moment.
