Anthurium, flamingo flower, tailflower, kitnia — this is the plant originating from Central and South America that, in home conditions, blooms continuously throughout the year. This species produces characteristic heart-shaped, glossy leaves and unusually shaped flowers gathered into a spadix from which a spathe emerges, a bract that covers the inflorescence. Its distinctive features include not only its attractive appearance but also its ability to purify the air by absorbing formaldehyde, ammonia, and xylene.

Care Guide

The red anthurium (Anthurium) is a showy potted plant with heart-shaped, waxy inflorescences. It requires a bright location with diffused light (no direct sunlight), a temperature of 20–28°C and high air humidity. The substrate should be light, well-draining and slightly acidic (pH 5.5), and watering moderate – the substrate should be slightly moist but not waterlogged.
